We are looking to recruit a team of friendly, enthusiastic and versatile volunteers to help make the 25th European Social Services Conference a success. The event is organised by the European Social Network in cooperation with the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Candidates will need to speak excellent English. Good knowledge of any of the following languages would be a bonus: French, Spanish, German and Italian.

Why volunteer at our conference?

Volunteering is a great way to network while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the conference and gaining full access to the sessions. When you are not scheduled to work, you can attend all the conference sessions.

As volunteers, you will be part of the leading European social forum, working with an international team of changemakers and doing your bit towards improving social welfare in Europe. The three-day event is packed full of inspiring keynote speakers and practical learning and development opportunities.

When is the conference taking place?

This year’s conference will be held from 26-28 June 2017 at the Grand Excelsior Hotel in Valletta.

What will volunteers do?

Volunteers are the face of the European Social Services Conference. As such, you will become knowledgeable on various aspects of the conference such as event location, layout of the venue, general conference information, and program details.

Volunteering duties will include:

  • Assisting in the registration of 500 delegates coming from all over the world, including representative from numerous national governments
  • Ushering and providing general conference information to delegates
  • Assisting in the distribution of interpretation receivers to delegates
  • Liaising with workshop speakers to ensure they have all necessary equipment and welcome attendees as they enter the session room
  • Providing logistical support in the numerous workshop sessions
  • Providing support in plenary sessions

The different volunteering shifts will take place on the following dates and times:

  • Monday 26 June: 0730-1700
  • Tuesday 27 June: 0830-1700
  • Wednesday 28 June: 0830-1400

Not all volunteers will be required to work all 3 days. On site catering will be provided on Monday and Tuesday. ESN is also able to cover travel expenses associated with volunteering at the conference.
