The Maltese Minister for Family and Solidarity Michael Farrugia joined by the CEO of the Foundation for Social Welfare Services Alfred Grixti and the CEO of the European Social Network John Halloran held a press conference in Valletta on 4th May to officially launch the European Social Services Conference 2017.
With less than two months to go before the 25th anniversary edition of ESN’s flagship annual event, this was an opportunity to invite Maltese social services professionals and other stakeholders to connect with all the latest in social welfare and join over 400 delegates from all across Europe and beyond.
Minister Farrugia was keen to stress “the unique experience of welcoming the leading decision makers in social services from all European countries and beyond in Malta” and how the conference was “a once in a life-time opportunity to share best practices, to listen and to discuss with fellow professionals working in all areas of social work and social services”.
Organised for the first time in cooperation with the Maltese Government with the support of the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the European Union, ESN CEO Joh Halloran presented some of the highlights of the conference programme, including 21 workshops, 5 plenary sessions, 3 panel discussion and plenty of networking opportunities. To maximise local impact, John Halloran also announced discounted rates of up to 40% for all local delegates eager to use these sessions as learning and development opportunity.
